Pillsbury is not a brand that markets itself as being dairy free, but there are some great dairy free finds within the brand if you read hard enough. I'm going to keep adding to this list as I bake my way through the grocery isle, so stay tuned!

I'm so happy to say that there is a commercially sold product that is already dairy free! Now, I have to say, not ALL Duncan Hines products are dairy free, but there are a lot of dairy free ones to choose from. I bake cakes and cupcakes all the time and sometimes it's too much effort to make everything from scratch. As I continue to use these baking products, I'll add to the list.
![]() Primal Kitchen is a company that was started by New York Times best selling health author Mark Sisson. He was on a mission to find salad dressings that were both healthy and tasty. On this journey, he said that either "the dressings are laden with industrial seed and vegetable oils like canola, sunflower, corn and soy oils—the primary instigators in all manner of chronic disease—or they boast out-of-this-world health and ingredient claims but tasteless, bland "flavor"'. So, instead of struggling between being healthy and being yummy, Sisson decided to make something that had both! ![]() Daiya is a company that was started by friend duo Andre and Greg. They both believed "plant-based living was better for their health, better for the planet and better for animal welfare" (source) and set out to create their "100% plant-based alternatives to dairy" (source). Daiya's products are free from 7 major food allergens that plague people today: dairy, gluten, soy, eggs, peanuts, fish, and shellfish. ![]() Not only is the Daiya company conscious of their product taste and ingredients, they are "dedicated to producing food responsibly, from the way it’s grown and resourced to [their] dedication to reducing [their] carbon footprint... [while at the same time they are] constantly innovating [their] packaging to be more sustainable and eco-friendly" (source). ![]() Miyoko's is a vegan company that is "making 100% non-dairy cheese, butter, and other goodies from organic, real foods like nuts, legumes, and other plant-based ingredients [by] using traditional creamery cultures, age-old cheesemaking techniques, and modern technology" (source). There mission has four main parts: artistry, integrity, ethics, and conviviality. They pride themselves in the fact that their "ingredients are organic and natural real foods, not a bunch of fillers, additives, and GMO what-nots [and that they] design [their] products in a kitchen, not a lab" (source). They are firm believers that "the meaning of life is found in gatherings - coming together to share a meal, ideas, and laughter" (source) They enjoy "creat[ing] foods that encourage sharing [and want others to] raise a glass to life - all life, ours, the planet, and animals" (source). ![]() Sun Tropics is a relatively young company, having just been started in 2002 by a husband and wife team. Their mission is to "bring the rich fruit flavors and textures from the [Philippines] homelands to the US kitchen tables...bring[ing] the finest tropical fruit flavors to the world [and] helping families embrace their heritage through flavorful food, and good times spent together" (source). After doing a bit more research on the company, it seems like they specialize in fruit drinks, nectar's, purees, and bars; providing a variety of authentic and unique flavors that people in the United States might not be familiar with. After giving their website a look-over, I am genuinely excited to try out some of their other products and juices. With that being said, let's get into what I have tried.
![]() Open Nature, a brand that's "part of Albertsons Companies’ portfolio of exclusive Own Brands, which includes the Signature family of brands, O Organics, and Lucerne" (source) has recently re-launched their brand and how they wish to provide products. As of today, Open Nature products are proudly "free from 110 ingredients such as antibiotics, MSG-type ingredients, nitrates, and preservatives like sulfites and benzoates" (source). Geoff White, president of Own Brands at Albertsons, said that Open Nature's new look reflects the "high quality and minimally processed products that support a clean lifestyle for the whole family" (source). Because Albertsons owns Jewel Osco, you can find their products on Jewel shelves near you!
